Our Scholarship Winners:
What did you learn from your grandparents?
What? All eligible contestants may enter one video (30-90 seconds) that describes or teaches us something they learned from their grandparents. Get creative! Your friends and family will be the ones judging your video. Four winners will be determined by fan voting based on how many “likes” your YouTube video gets as well as a panel of Weatherly Inn residents and employees. YouTube “likes” ranking will count for 50% and the panel from Weatherly Inn will count for 50% of the ranking.
Who is Eligible? Pierce County high school seniors graduating in 2017.
When? Video submission and release form due May 15, 2017 by 5:00PM
- Submissions must be dropped off to Weatherly Inn (6016 N Highlands Pkwy, Tacoma, WA 98406)
- Videos will be posted to the Weatherly Inn YouTube channel on May 16, 2017
- Voting will run May 16, 2017, through May 23, 2017
- Winners will be announced on May 26, 2017
- Prizes will be awarded June 1, 2017, between 3-5PM at Weatherly Inn
RULES
ENTRY: Submissions for the contest can be turned in from April 1, 2017, to May 15, 2017. All entries will be submitted to Weatherly Inn on a disc or drive. Participation in this promotion constitutes your full, irrevocable, and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these official rules and decisions of Weatherly Inn. Many will enter; four scholarships will be awarded. Odds of winning depend on number of valid entries received. Payments of scholarship are made from Weatherly Inn. To participate, you must be a Pierce County high school senior graduating in 2017. Limit one entry per person. By entering the contest, entrant attests that he/she has the right and permission to use and share the video. All video entries, including its copyright and all related materials, become the sole property of Weatherly Inn upon submission and will not be returned. By entering the contest, entrants/participants agree to have their submitted video shared with the public and in conjunction with the Weatherly Inn Facebook page, Weathelry Inn YouTube channel, and Weatherly Inn website without any fee or other form of compensation to the entrants. Winners consent to use their name, likeness, and entry for publicity purposes by Weatherly Inn during and after the contest, without further compensation. These rules represent the entire agreement between Weatherly Inn and entrants.
PRIZE & PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: Fans will vote for their favorite videos by visiting Weatherly Inn’s YouTube channel and “liking” their favorite video. Fan voting will take place between May 16, 2017, and May 23, 2017. Fan voting on YouTube and the Weatherly Inn panel will determine the winners. On May 26, 2017, winners will be announced and posted on the Weatherly Inn website. All prizes will be awarded on June 1, 2017. Scholarship award payments will be made directly to the post-secondary educational institutional upon receipt of evidence of the award winner’s enrollment at the institution.
Prize Amounts: $1,000 (2 awarded), $500 (2 awarded)
